Part III — How God Is Moving Today

Personal Application
This supplement is a heart-to-heart companion to the preceding two lessons — addressing your immediate personal needs and practical application of the truths studied.
Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man — and every believer has been given power of attorney to act in His name. That's not a metaphor. It's a legal and spiritual reality that most Christians have never tested. This supplement is the practical training for using the authority that Lessons Twenty-One and Twenty-Two established.
Without truly grasping who Jesus is and how to use the power He gives every believer, we simply can't experience the full manifestation of Christ's power in our individual lives or in the Church as a whole.
Let's be clear about something important: the name of Jesus has not lost any of its power. There's a foolish doctrine floating around that claims the power of Jesus' name was only for the apostolic period or for some future kingdom when Christ reigns.
We need to reject that idea once and for all.
When you read the New Testament passages about the name of Jesus, you won't find a single statement limiting His power to any certain period or particular group. Christ promised to be with us "even to the end of the world" Matthew 28:19-20, and believers throughout this age were to "observe all things" that Christ commanded the apostles.
If certain churches don't want these benefits — if they want to cooperate with the devil and become tools to destroy faith in God and His Word — that's their responsibility. They are the losers, both now and for eternity.
But here's the beautiful truth: even if every other person in the world rejects the gospel, you can still receive every promised benefit. Why? Because every promise is personal, not national.
Each person can and does receive exactly what they have faith for — no more, no less.
The name of Jesus and all the power behind it is for us right now! It's our legal right to use this power today.
That name belongs to everyone who is baptized into Christ Galatians 3:27-29Romans 6:1-8. This works now. All things can be ours for the asking if we have faith and don't doubt.
Think of it like this: every church could automatically become a channel for God's power if they would simply teach what the gospel says about this subject. But sadly, in the average church, men and women are groping in darkness, pleading with God for faith, bemoaning their weakness, and confessing their inability to meet the crisis of the hour.
If they only knew the truth about New Testament power in the name of Jesus, they would immediately become powerful in Christ.
1. IT IS OUR GOSPEL RIGHT. The gospel is still the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes Romans 1:16. The word "salvation" here means full deliverance by God's power from sin, sickness, failure, powerlessness, and every known need of human life.
2. IT IS OUR REDEMPTIVE RIGHT. "Redemption" means God has bought us — we belong to Him and we are not our own 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
3. IT IS OUR NEEDFUL RIGHT. From the standpoint of need as God's children, we have a right to claim as full a supply as God has promised Philippians 4:19.
4. IT IS OUR PROMISE RIGHT. All the promises of God are for all who believe, but not one thing is promised to the unbeliever 2 Corinthians 1:202 Peter 1:3-4.
5. IT IS OUR FAMILY RIGHT. As sons of God, we naturally have power by virtue of our relationship with God John 1:122 Timothy 1:7. It's similar to how a child has access to family resources simply because of who their father is.
6. IT IS OUR LEGAL RIGHT. Legal right to use Christ's name is promised to every believer, as we've seen in Lesson Twenty-two.
7. IT IS OUR COMMISSION RIGHT. Every child of God has been commissioned to use the name of Jesus Matthew 28:18-20John 14:12-15John 15:16John 16:23-26.
1. Believe the gospel — that everything it teaches is for you 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
2. Repent and turn to God, renouncing all sin and wrongdoing Acts 26:18.
3. Obey the gospel and seek the enduement of power from on High Luke 11:13Luke 24:49Acts 1:4-15Acts 2:38-39Acts 5:32.
4. Yield to God and walk and live in the Spirit Romans 8:1-16Galatians 5:16-26.
5. Learn to pray in faith, nothing wavering James 1:5-8Hebrews 11:6.
6. Have faith in your mission in life to fully represent God Acts 1:8.
7. Learn to use the name of Jesus according to the Word of God Acts 3:16Acts 4:12John 14:12-15John 16:23-26Colossians 3:17John 15:7, 16.
