Personal Application
This supplement is a heart-to-heart companion to the preceding two lessons — addressing your immediate personal needs and practical application of the truths studied.
You've just been introduced to the map of God's plan and the Book that contains it. But right now, in your actual life, you probably have a need that isn't waiting for you to finish a theology course. A financial pressure. A health concern. A relationship that's broken. Something. This supplement exists for exactly that: to connect the truths of Lessons One and Two to the things you need most right now.
Think of these supplements as a heart-to-heart conversation between us. We want to help you understand what you can expect from God as you work through these lessons. Our goal is to help you start receiving benefits—physically, materially, morally, and spiritually—from the very first lesson.
We want to show you what's available from God and exactly how to receive it. But here's an important tip: make sure you read and study both lessons before diving into their supplement.
If you follow the instructions in the lessons and supplements carefully—the way you'd follow a doctor's orders—you'll see results from the start. In Lessons One and Two, we've introduced you to the course and demonstrated that the Bible is God's eternal Word. It wasn't given to entertain you—it was given to help you in every area of life.
God'S Promises
In Lessons Ten, Twelve, Sixteen, and other lessons and supplements, you'll find many promises that you should take literally. Read them as if a trusted friend made those same promises directly to you.
Start acting on them. Believe them exactly as they're written, without questioning. They don't need interpretation—they mean what they say.
Don't attach conditions beyond what's stated. Simply meet the conditions given, and you'll receive the benefits. The moment you start wondering if these promises are really true for you today, you're being attacked by the devil and demonic powers trying to get you to doubt God's Word. This is exactly what caused the fall in the beginning. Getting victory over doubt is the very first thing you must conquer if you want to be redeemed from the fall and receive what God has promised.
Here's the bottom line: you cannot doubt God's Word—essentially calling Him a liar—and still receive what you need from Him. God won't make a special exception for you or anyone else. He requires faith in His Word before He obligates Himself to meet your needs and fulfill His promises.
This is the first lesson you must learn, and you must learn it well. It's absolutely imperative!
You can already see from the promises that it's God's will for you to have everything in life you want. God loves you and wants you to be happy, healthy, wealthy, and successful beyond anything you've ever dreamed.
Believe God! Adopt the right attitude toward Him and trust that He means what He says. Start cooperating with Him in asking and receiving life's blessings.
God won't force these things on you—it has to be a willing, dependent attitude on your part. He won't give you these blessings unilaterally, no matter how much He desires to. His Word makes clear what you must do and what He promises to do when you do your part. He cannot break His own laws, and He will not fail to meet His obligations to you.
The Reality of the Living God
Faith in God and His promises presupposes that God exists and that He's a God of love, justice, and truth. We'll take this as given until we prove what the Bible says about God in later lessons.
You can and should believe in God if you want the benefits He's promised. We're assuming you believe in God and that you believe the Bible is His Word. We must start on this biblical and fundamental foundation.
As you receive benefits according to the promises, you'll have the best proof that God exists.
The Reality of Satan, Fallen Angels, and Demons
The Bible doesn't just teach about God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit—it also teaches about enemies to both God and humanity: Satan, fallen angels, and demonic spirits of all kinds.
We'll prove this thoroughly in Lesson Six, but here are some passages that demonstrate these beings exist:
1. SATAN 1 Chronicles 21:1Job 1:6-12Job 2:1-7Ezekiel 28:11-17Zechariah 3:1Matthew 4:1-111 Peter 5:8-9Revelation 12:7-12Revelation 20:1-10Ephesians 2:1-32 Corinthians 4:4John 12:31. 2. FALLEN ANGELS Matthew 24:41Ephesians 1:21Ephesians 3:10Ephesians 6:10-17Revelation 12:7-12.
3. DEMONS Matthew 4:23-24Matthew 10:1-7Matthew 12:22-321 Timothy 4:11 John 4:1-6.
The Source of Sin, Sickness, and Disease
The Bible teaches that Satan and demons are the source of sin, sickness, and disease. They propagate sin and disease and control the law of sin and death in humanity Matthew 4:23-24Matthew 10:1-7Luke 10:1-20Luke 13:16John 10:10Acts 10:38Romans 7:7-25Romans 8:1-41 John 3:8Hebrews 2:14-15.
The Bible also teaches that God sent Jesus into the world to save people from all sin Matthew 1:21Ephesians 1:71 John 1:7-9Revelation 1:5; to heal people of all diseases and deliver them from demons Matthew 8:16-17Acts 10:381 Peter 2:241 John 3:8; and to answer all prayers for anything covered by God's promises Matthew 7:7-11Matthew 18:19-20Matthew 17:20Matthew 21:21-22Mark 11:22-24John 14:12-15John 15:7John 16:23-26.
