Personal Application
This supplement is a heart-to-heart companion to the preceding two lessons — addressing your immediate personal needs and practical application of the truths studied.
Archangels (archangeloi, "chief angels") — The eighth choir; superior messengers entrusted with the most important missions. Scripture names three: Michael, Gabriel, Raphael.
Michael ("Who is like God?") — Warrior Archangel; guardian of God's people; escort of souls; champion of the Church.
Gabriel ("God is my strength") — Archangel of divine annunciation; messenger of the Incarnation.
Raphael ("God heals") — Archangel of healing and accompaniment.
Principality — The highest choir of the third hierarchy; guardians of nations and peoples. Michael is specifically the Principality of the Church.
Daniel 12:1 "At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people."
Revelation 12:7 "Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon."
Jude 9 "But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said, 'The Lord rebuke you.'"
Tobit 12:15 "I am Raphael, one of the seven holy angels who present the prayers of the saints and enter into the presence of the holy God."
