History & Background
The Christian Standard Bible was published in 2017 by Holman Bible Publishers as a comprehensive revision of the Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB, 1999–2004). The HCSB emerged from LifeWay Christian Resources' desire for a translation balancing accuracy with readability using 'optimal equivalence.' The CSB revision involved over 100 scholars from 17 denominations. It is known for rendering the divine name as 'Yahweh' and for high-quality scholarly standards.
