History & Background

The Common English Bible was published in 2011, translated by 120 scholars from 24 faith traditions. Designed for a 7th-grade reading level with gender-accurate language, the CEB has been widely adopted in mainline Protestant denominations. An expanded edition with the Apocrypha is also available.
