The Geneva Bible was the first English Bible to use chapter and verse divisions, produced by Protestant reformers in Geneva in 1560. It was the primary Bible of the Puritans, Pilgrims, and Shakespeare. The Geneva Bible predates the KJV by 51 years and was the most widely read English Bible of the Reformation era.
